Edit a Timesheet

Tutorial - Timesheet Management - Edit a Timesheet

You can edit timesheets that are already in the system.  These must be edited from the Verify Timesheets screen.  If you arent already on this screen, then see the 'Verify Timesheets' section of the tutorial.

Click Edit Timesheet

When looking at this timesheet, we suddenly remembered that Mike Taylor ended up working for 30 more minutes after he punched out.  So we want to edit the timesheet and adjust the time.  Click on the timesheet we just created and verified, then click the Edit button.

Edit Screen

This is the edit timesheet screen.  You have the option of either changing the time of the punch out to 5:30, or adding a time adjustment to the timesheet.  Time adjustments are in minutes, and can be positive or negative.  To add 15 minutes, the time adjust would be 15.  The subtract 15 minutes from someone's time, the time adjust would be negative 15.

Adjust Time

For our purposes, I added 30 minutes using the Time Adjust option.  I used the mouse and clicked the little UP ARROW button until the time adjust was 30.  You could also just type 30 into the time adjust field.  You will notice that the time for this Timesheet goes up and down as you change the values on this screen.

Add a Job

As you know, Punch Clock allows users to Punch in and out on Jobs, which allows you to track time used for different activities.  If you have any jobs entered in the Jobs Table (this is gone over in another section of the Tutorial), then clicking the dropdown arrow will show a list of the active jobs to select from.  If your employee forgot to apply his/her timesheet to a job, this is where it would be handled.

Save your Edits

Now that we've added the 30 minutes and associated this timesheet with the job called "Filing", click the Save button to save the changes you have made to this timesheet.

Review updates and Exit

Now that we're back to the Verify Timesheets screen, you will see that the total time is updated both on the timesheet itself, as well as on the total time box a the top.  It also shows 30 minutes of adjustment for our timesheet.  When done verifying and/or editing timesheet(s), click the Exit button.
